Do not lie and say that it is your birthday in an attempt to get a free dessert. Restaurant employees can smell a birthday liar a mile away and you will not be fooling anyone.
I wish customers knew that servers don't give one f**k about their f**king birthday! I get so tired of them expecting me to roll out the red carpet and bring them free shit. My restaurant doesn't sing or give free anything, and I LOVE telling people that. :)
